Good morning! I’m glad to welcome you to worship today at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

As we come to Matthew 18:1–14 we find Jesus using a child as an illustration for the disciples about greatness in the Kingdom of God, as they had been arguing about who would be the greatest in the Kingdom of God.

These verses can be applied in two different ways: 1) They speak about the importance of children, and 2) they speak about God’s little ones, in the family of God.

I believe that Jesus used a little child as an illustration of God’s little ones in the family of God, because of what we find in verse 6, “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Jesus seemed to be addressing the little children of God, babes in Christ.

We will discover in these verses that everyone in the family of God is equally important and valuable, as we look at God’s Little Ones in Matthew 18:1–14.
